In 2016, eThekwini Municipality launched the GO!Durban Cycle Academy, in partnership with Peschlsports-Pro Development and Durban Green Corridor. The first site for the Academy was the eNanda Adventure Park. Academy members receive athletic, mechanical and technical training, life skills development and homework assistance. Recruits are required to sign a pledge and are expected to set a good example for their peers. Far more than a series of pump tracks, the Academy gives local youth a sense of purpose and self-confidence.
